Korgalzhyn nature reserve is one of the two nature reserves of Kazakhstan included in the UNESCO heritage list. One of the symbols of the reserve is a bird – a pink Flamingo. In addition to flamingos, there are 354 species of birds, of which 41 are listed in the Red book, as well as 443 species of plants and 43 species of mammals.
Just 150 km away from the bustling city is a real bird’s Paradise, where we will go with you.
On the way, our guide will not only tell you about the history, flora and fauna of the reserve, but also show an informative video about the animal world of this region.
Korgalzhyn reserve is a diamond on the map of Kazakhstan. It was created in 1968 to preserve the unique wetlands that are the habitat of flamingos, curly pelicans and other birds.
But as for the territory itself, it is in general a system of double lakes: flowing lake Korgalzhyn and drainless lake Tengiz, connected to each other. Since 2000, lake Tengiz is part of the international program “Living lakes” along with the most unique reservoirs on the planet.
In the continuation of the tour, we will visit the “Bird’s Paradise”, visitor center. This is the so-called “calling card” of the Korgalzhyn reserve, a place where visitors can get all the available information about this unique territory. The main or leading topics of the visit center contain information about what is unique, interesting, and famous about this protected area.
At the end, you will find a beautiful “video show”. On a single white screen, images of beautiful protected landscapes, plants and animals appear to music. At the same time, on the other – Smoking pipes, steppe fires, garbage-polluted banks of rivers and lakes.
After completing the tour of the territory and return to the city.
