The word “Arasan” is translated from Kazakh as “warm spring”. The complex is located in a building that is considered a bright original architectural monument of national significance and is under state protection. The complex was built in 1979-1982 and acquired the status of an exceptional attraction of the southern capital of Kazakhstan in the first years of its appearance. Today, the Arasan Wellness & SPA complex is a combination of a magnificent interior and engineering ideas of the XX and XXI centuries. The State Museum of Art. Abylkhan Kasteev. In 1976, on the basis of the collection of the Kazakh State Art Gallery named after T. G. Shevchenko and the Republican Museum of Applied Arts, the Museum of Art was established. In January 1984, the museum was named after the People’s Artist of the Kazakh SSR Abylkhan Kasteyev. The park named after the 28th Panfilov Guards received its name in the spring of 1942 in honor of the heroes of the Panfilov Division, who stopped the Nazi offensive on Moscow. In the center of the Memorial of Glory there are images of Panfilov heroes who defended Moscow. In the eastern part stands the Museum of Folk Instruments and the House of Officers, a monument to the soldiers-internationalists. On the south side is a monument-bust to the hero of the USSR, Major General of the Guard Panfilov. In the northern part stands the monument to Baurzhan Momyshuly. All the roads of the park intersect in the center and lead to the Holy Ascension Cathedral.
One of the most beautiful and amazing places in the city is Mount Kok – Tobe, located at an altitude of 1100 meters above sea level. A high-altitude sports complex located in the Medeu mountain tract at an altitude of 1691 meters above sea level, near the city of Almaty, just below the mountain resort “Shymbulak”. Medeu is the world’s largest high-altitude complex for winter sports with the largest area of an artificial ice field — 10.5 thousand m2. The high mountains and the purest mountain water for pouring ice contribute to achieving high results in speed skating, over 200 world records have been set here for all distances among men and women. The Almaty ice rink was nicknamed the “factory of records”.
The Big Almaty Lake is considered the highlight of the Trans-Ili Alatau, rising at an altitude of 2510 meters above sea level. The Ascension Cathedral is a unique architectural structure. Since 1929, the cathedral was used as the Central State Museum of the Kazakh ASSR (SSR). In April 1995, the cathedral was transferred to the perpetual and gratuitous use of the Russian Orthodox Church. In 2004, the restoration of the cathedral began, as a result of which the iconostasis was recreated, and the walls were painted.
Shymbulak is a Paradise for skiers. Favorable natural conditions attract to this area with accessible terrain, allow you to lay ski trails with a height difference of 900-1000 m.
