Almaty is the largest city in Kazakhstan and the city of national significance.

It served as capital of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic and later independent Kazakhstan from 1929 to 1997. Almaty is still the major commercial and cultural centre of Kazakhstan, as well as its most populous and most cosmopolitan city.

KYZYLORDA DESTINATIONS

Kyzylorda is a city in south-central Kazakhstan, capital of Kyzylorda Region and former capital of the Kazak ASSR from 1925 to 1927.

The modern city had its beginnings in 1817 as the site of a Kokand fortress known as Ak-Mechet, or white mosque. “Kyzylorda”, the Kazakh-based romanized spelling, has been used since the late 20th century after the dissolution of the Soviet Union and Kazakhstan’s independence in 1991.

TARAZ DESTINATIONS

Taraz is a city in Kazakhstan, the administrative center of the Zhambyl region.

Population: 357,795.

It is located in the south of the country, near the border with Kyrgyzstan, on the Talas River. In the VI-V centuries BC, tribal unions of Saks and Usuns formed in the steppes near the Talas River, who founded the settlement of Taraz. Its traces were found on the site of the Central City Market of modern Taraz. The city was located on the Great Silk Road

SHYMKENT DESTINATIONS

Shymkent is a city in Kazakhstan. It is near the border with Uzbekistan. It is one of three cities with the status of significance.

Population: 1,054,413.

Shymkent was founded in the twelfth century as a caravanserai to protect a nearby Silk Road trade town Sayram. The history of the city begins with the 12th century, for a long time it passed from one conqueror to another, until in the 19th century the city was stormed by Russian troops and became part of the Russian Empire, then the Soviet Union. Until 2018, it was the regional center of the Kazakhstan.

TALDYKORGAN DESTINATIONS

Taldykorgan is a city, the administrative center of the Almaty region of Kazakhstan.

Population: 145,403.

It is located in the center of Semirechye on the banks of the Karatal River in the foothills of the Dzungarian Alatau at an altitude of over 602 m above sea level. It was founded in the 19th century as a Russian settlement, in the 2nd half of the XIX century-Gavrilovka, in 1920 it was renamed the village of Taldy-Kurgan.
