CONSTANTINO-ELENINSKIY CATHEDRAL

The Cathedral Church of Constantine and Helena Cathedral is the main temple and Kostanay Rudny diocese. Its construction began in 2002 and was completed in 2005. The construction was made possible thanks to the help of individual entrepreneurs, parishioners and the state. The author of the mosaic above the main entrance to the temple is the famous Kostanay artist Georgy Mikhailovich Sokov. On July 24, 2003 By the decree of His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia, the church was granted the status of a cathedral. Archbishop Anthony of the Urals and Guryev consecrated the cathedral on May 16, 2004. The design capacity of the cathedral is 400-450 people. The height of the bell tower with the onion is 25 meters. The first rector of the cathedral until November 16, 2008 was Archpriest Viktor Petrov. The cathedral has a church library and a Sunday school for children.

KOSTANAY REGIONAL MUSEUM OF IOCAL HISTORY

Kostanay Regional Museum of Local History is one of the oldest in the Republic of Kazakhstan, founded in 1915. The museum is located in the city center, in a building that is an architectural monument of the early twentieth century. It has a representative office in the city of Zhitikara with a sector in the village of Tokhtarovo, Zhitikarinsky district. The museum also includes the Department of Fine Arts. Since the foundation of the museum, special attention has been paid to research work.

One of the first museums in Kazakhstan, the regional museum organized large – scale ethnocultural expeditions in 2001-2009, studying the history of settlement and the current socio-economic state of 134 villages in all districts of the region. The scientific staff of the museum participated in the excavations of unique archaeological sites – the Bestamak burial ground and the Halvai burial mound group.

KOSTANAY REGIONAL MEMORIAL MUSEUM NAMED AFTER L.ALTYNSARIN

Kostanay Regional Memorial Museum of Ibray Altynsarin is the same age as the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Ibrai Altynsarin is a great Kazakh educator, public figure, teacher-innovator, scientist, ethnographer, poet and prose writer, one of the founders of the Kazakh written literature and literary language, the creator of the Kazakh alphabet based on Russian graphics. As a center of national culture, the memorial museum reflects the rich heritage of the innovative teacher Ibray Altynsarin.

The Ibray Altynsarin Memorial Museum was established in 1991 to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of the great enlightener. This beautiful, oriental-style building is located in the historical and architectural part of the city, next to the boarding school named after Ibray Altynsarin for gifted children, founded by him in 1884. MUSEUM OF TOYS

The Toy Museum in Kostanay is the first and only museum of its kind on the territory of Kazakhstan. The museum is located on Gogol Street in the Kazakh-French Cultural and Shopping Center on the fourth floor.

Kostanay Toy Museum is a whole kingdom, which contains toys from different times and from different countries of the world. Today, the museum houses 5 thousand different exhibits-from ancient toys to the most modern radio-controlled models. In the future, the organizers plan to significantly expand the collection and purchase their own building for the museum.

OPEN-AIR MUSEUM OF MILITARY EQUIPMENT

Since 2013, residents of Kostanay (Kazakhstan) and visitors have had a unique opportunity to visit the Museum of Military Equipment, the opening of which is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism. This is a real historical monument, located in the open air. The museum is located on the territory of Victory Park. Here you can admire the original exhibits of military vehicles of the war years. The exhibited samples of active military equipment (the collection includes 14 samples) are not found in any other museum in the country. These are the famous tanks-34, the famous “Katyusha”, the majestic armored personnel carriers “BTR-70” and other exhibits from the Civil War, the Second World War and the post-war period.

MOSQUE OF MARAL-ISHAN

The mosque was built in 1893 with donations from Muslims living in Tatarskaya Sloboda (now the Narimanovsky Market district). From the very first day after its construction, the mosque had two names, the official-the Cathedral Mosque of the city of Kustanaya and the unofficial-Ak Mosque. This name was given to it by ordinary believers of the city, it seemed to symbolize the beauty and purity of the mosque.
For more than 120 years, the elegant and unique building of the Kostanay Cathedral Mosque has been pleasing the eyes of citizens, being one of the most beautiful buildings in the city and rightfully included in the list of its main attractions.
