The theater in Astana stands as a testament to the vision of Kazakhstan’s first President, Nursultan Nazarbayev, who initiated its creation. Built in 2013, the theater’s architectural design has earned it the distinction of being recognized as a national architectural monument.
Notably, the construction of this magnificent edifice was accomplished in less than three years, a remarkable feat. An international team of architects, builders, and specialists from 33 countries collaborated on both the exterior and interior of the theater.
One of President Nazarbayev’s notable suggestions led to the expansion of the main theater foyer’s height. This elegant space is adorned with Sicilian marble on the floors, walls, decorative panels, and the intricately designed spiral staircases, making it a site of remarkable beauty and cultural significance.
